prepare or fail

THE EXPERIENCE

Last May 27-28, we went to Mt. Tabor Recreation Center in Tagaytay, the recreation center of our church, to have some tree planting. But of course, before we did the activity, we have to first prepare the place where we will plant.

Preparing the soil includes removal of weeds and dry and withered plants. Actually we spent I think 75% of our time there just preparing the soil, much longer than the actual tree planting. We planted various fruit-bearing trees like mangoes, lemons, papaya, and calamansi and also some pine trees. We enjoyed the whole activity including our experiences with those tiny little creatures, the rain and some wounds.

THE REALIZATION

Preparation is really important, and I think many people will agree with me on this. Just like a mountain climber, if he wants to reach a peak, he must first prepare for his adventure, like preparing his equipments and his body as well. Be cause if he failed to prepare, it is 100% sure that he will not succeed.

On a biblical example, Moses was prepared 40 years by God before he was commanded to lead Israel out of Egypt (Acts 7:29-32). Noah built the ark for 100 years for the great flood (Genesis 5:32;7:6). The disciples were prepared by Jesus for 3 years before they were sent out to preach the gospel.

Preparation is really a long process, and mostly pain is encountered, but it guarantees success. Just be patient and faithful and surely you will get all the fruits of your hard work in due time.
